It is important that the battery in your vehicle is in good condition and fully charged at all times. Your starter motor needs maximum power from the battery to ensure it works properly. Starting your vehicle with a poor battery will overload the starter motor and cause damage to it.
Alternators are not designed to re-charge flat batteries, and doing so, will overload the alternator as it will be working flat out, possibly for several days, which it is not designed to. So jump starting, although necessary at times is not a good idea. We have the equipment to test batteries so if you are unsure about your battery, come to Burghfield Starter & Alternator Centre and we will test it for you, free of charge.
